Nicaragua is the second-poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. The Nicaraguan people have been oppressed by corruption, politics, and war for decades. We have come alongside the local heroes of this community, which include local pastors, businessmen and women, social workers, ministry leaders, schools, and others who have a heart to see transformation in their own community.
The crisis of 2018 has presented new challenges to life and ministry, and at the same time opened up new doors. We are looking for partnerships who would come alongside our ongoing initiatives, encouraging, serving, and learning from the community of Masatepe.
Short-Term Teams can expect to support One Collective core initiatives, come alongside local ministry leaders, and build relationships in the community. Teams may participate in the following: language exchange, home visits, assisting local partner ministries, sports ministry, working on our farm and in our rehab center, listening to local leaders, and learning about Integrated Community Transformation.
Spanish proficiency is helpful, but not required. Humility and a learner's posture are necessary.
